Recently, I sold my residence of the last 2 years, Condonation(tm). I figured that I am in school full time anyway, so I might as well move to the east side. Eventually, it began to sound like a good idea to move back to my parents' place for a short spell, since they live so close to school, so I made plans to do that.
A good friend of mine has some friends who are movers, not professional guys, but people who do it as a side job. I was under the impression that this would go off without a hitch, but on Sunday night, I found out that it wasn't going to happen, since one of the movers had to work. This left me with about 48 hours to acquire a truck and some help.
I sent out some e-mails and made some calls, and the core three people who saved the day were: Eric Loebel, Adam Parikh, and Eric Shipman. I can't thank these guys enough, and just wanted to give them some public props. Some started early in the day, and others stayed until the wee hours of the morning with me.
The next day, I awoke beaten and weary but I was moved. I went back to the condo to clean it out and vacuum the debris.
Moving all this crap again has presented me with a moment of clarity on the issue: I have too much crap. The reality is that I am really not a great acquirer of things. Somehow I never seem to throw things out though. This will be an exercise in discipline and letting go, which has already started. You can check my progress on the blog under the operation: dumptruck link.
Well, gotta go now. I will post some pix of the moving VIP's also if I can figure it out. I look forward to your comments.
Peace, kids
