I'm probably going to Great America on Sunday, as it's the last day it's open this year. If you're interested in going, let me know. The options are limitless; we could go for Korean bbq afterwards too.

Let's see...what else? Went down to Chicago last weekend to work, and hung out with Karl and Shannon. We had some tasty dim sum, and watched a few movies.

Mom is back from Paris on Wednesday. Perhaps she'll smuggle in some sausages, like Tyan tried to last time.

Condonation(tm) is still not sold, but apparently there is at least one interested party. Dave had his posse come in there and paint the entire place Miami Vice white, so hopefully it won't scare the old people away from living there.

Kill Bill got me thinking about ninjas. If it got you thinking about them too, I recommend checking out this site, always good for ummm useful ninja info and a good laugh.

2 weeks in a row, a scrub football player has made my team win. 2 weeks ago it was Terry Glenn, and last week it was Arlen Harris. It's all about the waiver wire.

Ujala Tandori

Recently I've been back to enjoy the Pakistani delights available at this restaurant and I've decided to make it part of the regular rotation. His location seems sub-par to me, but heck what do I know? In any case, I figure if I spread the word a bit, it couldn't hurt. Ujala Tandori is located at 604 W Mitchell Street in Milwaukee. I really like their biryani and anything with mutton. The food takes a little longer to arrive but it's hot and fresh, made to order. Also, it's pretty cheap, at least for Pakistani/Indian food, which tends to be expensive for what you get. Anyway, if you're interested in going, just write or call me.

I recently downloaded Paul Van Dyk's Live at Einslive Einheitsrave off of DJMixes2k, and I must say that I'm quite pleased. Anyone else check that one out yet or have any other good sets? I want to check out Kill Bill. Anyone see it yet? If so, don't tell me the ending, and if not, let me know when you wanna go.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yeah, good ole Maddie finally turned the big 3-9. Congratulations! Here's a photo of last year's festivities when she was getting her Paki food on at Ujala Tandoori.

The weather is amazing today in Milwaukee, complete with a huge ladybug infestation. Other than that, I have a test today in my "angry black woman" class, which should be loads of fun. Or maybe not.

I made a trek out to Half Price Books to try to get my Cliffs Notes on for a few books in one of my English classes, and came up nearly empty handed.

I keep thinking about Great America and want to go back. I'm thinking about heading down there some Thursday soon. It seems the best time during the week, as lines are likely to be shortest. If anyone wants to go, let me know; I'm down.

Great America

Well, Karl randomly IMed me and told me that his friend Chris had a bunch of free tickets to Six Flags Great America. I haven't been there in years, and really wanted to go; coincidentally I was just chatting about that on the blog recently. So, I jumped at the chance.

We met at the McDonalds right near there, where I learned just how ingenious McDonalds really is. There, in all of it's glory, was the answer to my long forgotten dream: a bun with maple syrup flavor inside! What the hell is going on here? How the heck is that ingenious?

Anyway, the last time I was at Great America, was 1988, apparently. I found this out because I remember that was when Shockwave went up. That was great, but I guess they took it down. In it's place now is Superman, which simulates flying. You actually lay down, so that's cool. Overall, though, I really enjoyed Deja Vu, which I can't compare to anything I've ever been on, and Raging Bull, a sleek, fast, magnet-driven coaster. For nostalgia sake, we went on the Eagle, forwards and then backwards, which was definitely cool.

Well, I got 2 papers to write before tomorrow, so it's back to the books. I'm definitely not waiting 15 more years to go back.... Thanks Chris!

Hot Bronte Action

Well Jane Eyre is no more, and in it's place is Wuthering Heights. Strangely enough, I didn't find Jane Eyre nearly as boring as I'd anticipated. Actually, it was almost reasonable. It seems strange to me that two sisters would write books that both were accepted as "great works" of the time, but hey, maybe talent runs in the family. That talent didn't stop her from writing a feeble last chapter, though. We'll see how her sister does in the next book, her only novel I guess, before she decided to get knocked up and die cranking out a pup.

Tyan's back from Paris today. Oo-la-la! I heard secondhand that there was some kind of "sausage larceny" that took place. Perhaps she'll be good enough to fill us in on the details.
