more photos in the canadian road trip album.
after another soak in the mineral pool and a shower, i drove from moose jaw, sk to calgary ab. most of the way it was raining, and for half of that the wind was blowing from the north at speeds that were making most cars weave in their lane. still, i was able to average 70 mph for the journey, which put me in calgary around 6pm.
i drove to the casino to find out where it was, then gassed up. then, it was time to find a hotel. i settled on a days inn, where i sit right now. next, i was off to find some grub. there is an asian strip mall near the casino, and sure as shit there was a place open where i got myself some of this:
oh man, let me tell you, it was a delicious treat that i needed after white-knuckled driving past hydroplaning semis.
after the pho, i headed to casino calgary to try to win my hotel room fee. all they had was 4-8 limit, and then a 2-5 pot limit "dealers's choice" game. the choice that you can choose is either hold em or omaha high. i like omaha and all, but i'm not good enough to sit and play for real money. most of the people at that table had 1-2K, and most of them chose omaha. screw that.
so, i settled in for some 4-8 donkey poker. i made $130 in 3 hours, enough to cover the room and a tank of gas. good enough for me.
tomorrow, i drive through banff, which should be gorgeous as long as it's not freaking rainingi again, and hopefully will end up in kamloops, bc.
banff.
I have always wanted to check that place out after reading about it in all my Skiing mags.
Nice job of financing the trip by playing poker along the way!

Congrats on all the winning!
Banff I heard is nice but then again I loved Winnepeg. I'd like to see Calgary since the Olympics were there.
