Sorry for the lack of updates. We had a ton of people in town for Christmas, and the last of them have finally left. Overall, it was a fun holiday season, with a lot of family meals and activities. It was really great to see all of the relatives. The Secret Santa gift exchange went over well, and I suspect if we ever have a large hoedown again, it will be reborn.
I’m finally getting some pictures on the wall, as Loong has lent me his hammer and nails. Other than that, the apartment is pretty much as it’s going to be, which is comfortable for me.
I’m back on vampiric hours, waking up in the mid afternoon and heading to sleep between 6 and 10 in the morning. Graveyard casino poker tends to be better than daytime, as most anyone good enough to play full time and has a family would want to play during the daytime hours.
I’ve been watching all of my DVDs again that have been essentially on loan or in storage for two years. It’s kind of like getting all new DVDs. I got a new camera for Christmas, which I love. I was going to buy one after the holidays anyway, so it was nice to get a great gift that I will definitely use. I also got a thermos, a book and some Nalgene bottles, all of which will be put to good use in the poker room. My backpack is currently stocked with water and cream of mushroom soup.
Lately, I’ve been making a lot of kimchee hot pot. I guess it seems like a variation of ramen, but it’s pretty tasty.
My birthday is coming up on the fifteenth of this month….the big 35. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but I suppose it can’t be avoided. It looks like Joel and his girlfriend will be in town that weekend, which should be fun.
I have a ton of new photos to post, which I will do in the next few days. Let me know how your holidays went!
