so, i'm working these days for a fortune 100 company. next week is my last week of training, and then i'll go into kind of a probationary/continued training period for two weeks called 'nesting'. after that, i'll officially be a corporate slave. by the way, we're hiring more slaves, so if you want a job, get a hold of me and i'll try to get you in. that way, we can sit next to each other while being whipped.
i'm buying a duplex in river west. it's looking a lot like i'll be moving into the upper; i prefer the layout to the lower. with any luck, i'll be able to use this as the genesis of my real estate empire. unless something horrible shows up on the inspection, i'm in.
i have plans to get a dog, finally.
i made a new pal at work. yesterday, she came down from fond du lac with her husband, and with maggie, we all went to phan's for pho. it's getting to be pho weather: rainy, cooler; come winter, i'll be eating it at least once a week. mmm.
bourne ultimatum was pretty good. if you liked the previous two, you'll enjoy this one.
sunshine was great. it's a sci-fi thriller from director danny boyle, of trainspotting and 28 days later fame.
i might miss rush for the first time in 22 years. needs of the business and what not. sigh. crossing my fingers.
i'm in a monthly poker league. you get points for how well you do, which gives you chips for the year end tournament as well. so far in 3 months, i've taken 4th, 4th and 2nd in fields of 30, 20, and 19. not too bad. i'm pleased. next year i hope to get in a league that the year end tournament sends someone to the WSOP. maggie plays in it too. she's the only girl, and last month she made the final table. this month she would have probably been in the top 3, but she got sucked out on horribly with 55 vs 33, all in pre-flop, when she was a 4-1 favorite. the guy flopped a set and rivered quads. how lucky.
still digging her lots.
next weekend, we're going to minnesota for her family reunion, and staying with my pal regi and his family in eau claire. i'm really looking forward to that.
A corporate man .... A Viscount in Riverwest .... and whipped to top it all off. Man, WHAT HAPPENED ?
