new photos in the september-october album! they encompass our trip to eau claire and minnesota to visit regi and go to maggie's family reunion, and also some pre-halloween fun.
well, i'm a homeowner again. i closed on a duplex in riverwest late last month. maggie and i moved into the upper, and there's a tenant named larry in the lower. he's been there for a few years and seems like a pretty solid guy.
the house is about a hundred years old with a big fenced in back yard and no garage or slab. my heat is baseboards and seems fine. the cats are loving the extra space and their cat door (which was already here when we got here).
maggie's folks have been really helpful as they are handy. they, (bill and karen), came over the other night and had dinner with us, and then helped us hang some hooks and paintings and a mirror from ikea. next week our cabinets from menards arrive, and bill's gonna help with that as well. tuesday and wednesday, maggie and i are going to paint the living room, which is a putrid peach-salmon color right now. every time i look at the wall, it reminds me of bile. i think we're going to go with an off white.
other acquisitions: two bookshelves from ikea, a sofa and chair from evans, and a king size bed through the bill hookup. thanks bill! also, random bathroom stuff.
what else is new? we went to a pumpkin patch/petting zoo (don't ask) in east troy with erin, indigo, and pinky (don't ask). everyone got their fill of ooh's and ah's, and we each got a pumpkin. they sat on our porch for about a week, and last night, mags and i decided to put 'em under the knife. the last time i carved a pumpkin, i think i was in grade school. maggie, on the other hand, has carved one every year of her life, as long as she's been able to clutch a sharp blade. needless to say, i was pretty intimidated. she traced a cool wolf we found online, and a deceptacon icon for me, and drew them on our pumpkins. we carved them up, and got some photos on the porch. i'll post those asap.
we finally got internet hooked up. yay! if only i could find my router now. somehow it got lost in the move from eric's. i'm crossing my fingers.
maggie's been doing another indexing project, and seems to be getting even better at it. i'm really impressed, and might check into it myself as it seems kind of fun.
congrats to brad and katie on the birth of their son, mason!
that's all for now; miss you all.

Do you have a viable business but lack the necessary finances to get it off it’s feet?
